Description
Nature in Huelva, Doñana National Park; flora, fauna and marshes in a protected natural area.
Nature lovers can visit the Doñana National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (1994) and one of the most spectacular and unique ecosystems in Spain. Doñana is the largest Ecological Reserve in Europe, is an organic mosaic that includes lagoons, beaches, mobile and fixed dunes, preserves, marshes and a winter refuge and observation with more than 300 species of birds.
Near Doñana is located the village of El Rocio in Almonte, which is the village that hosts the most famous pilgrimage in Spain, the Pilgrimage of El Rocio, where more than a million people are concentrated between pilgrims and visitors.
In addition, you can enjoy sea and mountain cuisine, which are concentrated in the gastronomy of Huelva. Its best known product is the Iberian ham from Huelva, with its own denomination of origin and also the white shrimp from its coasts. From the same place come the sausages derived from pork, mushrooms obtained from the mountains and a high quality product such as strawberries in their coastal regions.
A unique experience that mixes belief and adventure; faith and nature; the divine and the earthly. A visit that can be done in the north and south of the Doñana National Park, visiting the two most important ecosystems: the Mediterranean forest and the marshes.
With departure and arrival point in the village of El Rocio by a path that is part of the wonderful Doñana National Park, which mixes flora and fauna, dunes and beach. An experience giving the traveler quality viewing material (field cards, binoculars for each 2 participants and a telescope for the group) so that they do not miss any detail of the beauty of the place of some spectacular animals with special mention for the lynx (endangered species) and countless species of birds such as imperial eagles that inhabit this unique space.
A tour in an all-terrain vehicle where we will visit the Pinares de Coto del Rey, the cork oak forests of Matasgordas, the Hinojos Marshes and the José A. Valverde Visitor Center.
Then lunch in a restaurant in the village of El Rocio, with privileged views of the famous centenary wild olive trees and the nearby marsh where we will enjoy the best examples of local cuisine. And to top it all off, a horse and mule drawn carriage ride through the village and its surroundings.
Do you feel like experiencing all this? Are you curious about this combination? Then don’t hesitate any longer and enjoy with us this experience in nature.
